Hackle Feather Headbands

As I've mentioned in previous posts, I am working on a few hair accessories for my newest little girl (due in early May) and my 2 and 4 year olds.  About 3 weeks ago I purchased a Lot of 5 hackle feather pads from this shop on etsy.  It was the cheapest I found per fether pad at $1.70 a piece and I had the choice of about 10 colors.  It took me a while to decide exactly how I wanted to dress them up but I finally got to it and here's what I came up with.

The tan has 2 ivory flowers with an ivory pearl  in the center of each.  I really liked how these flowers turned out.

The white feather has a lace rosette with a pink rhinestone button center.

(lace rosette tutorial can be found here)

I love the pop of hot pink!

This hot pink feather pad has a hot pink and light pink flower with another pink rhinestone button in the center.  My 4 year old quickly claimed this as hers.  Her new favorite color is HOT PINK. :)

I have claimed the purple one for the 2 year old.  I have no idea exactly WHAT the center embellishment is called on the purple one but I really like it.  I think it may be some type of iron on but I'm not sure.  All I know is that it came from Hobby Lobby: the great land of craft supplies.

And lastly, the light pink one which is my choice for the new baby.  I love the pearl cluster button center on the ruffle pink chiffon flower!!  So pretty :)

I made a second pink flower with a rhinestone button center that will stand alone on a stretchy headband.  These flowers are about 3" in diameter.  Wanna know how to make them?  Tutorial can be found here.

I'm pretty happy with how they turned out.  A few of them don't have their headbands attached yet.  If you're interested in knowing how I made the silk flowers for the ivory and hot pink headbands, please let me know.  I did take some photos along the way.  Or if you aren't exactly clear on how I did the headband altogether, please let me know.  (not the best photos as they WERE taken at night!)

So, which one's your favorite??  Can't wait to show you some photos of these in use!
