Coastal Curtsy Skirt

The Coastal Curtsy Skirt is something I have been drooling over for months now...

I can't even tell you!  Back in September or October I found this amazing skirt with tutorial over at No Big Dill.  She has more talent in her baby finger than I will ever have for desinging and sewing clothes!

I tried to locate the ruffle fabric that is a must for this skirt and couldn't locate it anywhere nearby.  It can be purchased here online but *cough cough*, it is rather costly!  I held off for months, and even forgot about it for a while, until I saw something made from that fabric recently...

and a vision kept coming back to my mind...

of this stunning skirt...

that I was dying to try out myself.

I caved.

What do you think?  I love how the ruffles go up and down in the front but side to side in the back.

In order to get that look with the ruffles, you get a bit of a bustle in back.  Here is a good view of that.  NOT such a great view of my...tush.

The color I chose is called blush.  It was difficult because I absolutely love lavender, but in the end I thought this color would be more versatile.

Yeah...this photo and skirt would look much better barefoot in the SAND, but that would mean I'd have to empty out the sand/water table and that's just messy!  :) Or, I could move to the coast, and as wonderful as that sounds, I feel pretty safe living in the middle of a large land mass.  So sidewalk it will be!  Please, tell me what you think??  I'm gonna save this for Easter Sunday instead of buying a new dress this year.  On the + side, I have enough left over to make some dresses for my girls!!
